Darjeeling tour: Sightseeing in Darjeeling (Day 3)

After a daylong tour at Lamhata and Tinchule, we plan to have a short trip for sightseeing at Darjeeling (on 10 October 2022). On our last visit in 2014, we did a similar tour. Hence, our daughters were not interested in today’s tour. My wife and I planned for quick sightseeing of only important places.

1) Japanese temples and peace pagodas were must-watch for travelers. The scenic beauty and tranquility of this place made our minds fresh.

We are at Japanese temple.

2) Ghoom monastery: it is located close to Ghoom station. Nice place to visit and do some shopping in nearby shops. We found that the main temple was closed on that day.

3) Batasia loop: it is a war memorial and obviously the best spot for a family outing. Toy trains are going around the memorial. We spent more time here and took photos of memorials, gardens, and beautiful valleys. We finished our lunch here at a Bengali restaurant.

4. Tea garden: After lunch, we set out for our last spot Tea garden. I visited this place on our last Darjeeling tour also. Panoramic views of the tea garden and nearby valleys were fantastic. We spent some time at a nearby tea stall and tested some Darjeeling tea. After testing tea, you can purchase tea here. It was 4 pm, and hence we left for Darjeeling. While returning, we see the rock climbing site. We moved ahead without stopping as it was 430 pm. You can take enjoy a rock climbing experience with the help of trained staff.

Today, we skipped many places, such as observatory Hill, Tiger Hill, and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park. Since this is our repeat trip. Anyway, the daylong experience was awesome, especially for the Batasia loop, tea garden, and Japanese temple.
