1 January 2023, new year’s day, I used to avoid taking oaths for the entire year as many uncertainties may arise while managing multiple hats as a family member, academician, or traveler. Last year, I had grand plans for travel and academic publications. However, I was busy with my daughter’s MBBS admission, my mother’s illness, building new houses, etc. Still, I managed to travel to some places and perform other duties.
In travel
We thought to cover many places after fear of covid 19 receded greatly in the first half of 2022. However, family priority and responsibility came first before taking any family outing. Still, we managed to visit some places.
1) Darjeeling and its surrounding areas
2) Dooars jungle safari
3) Quick Kolkata tour with my wife
In 2023, we plan to cover some offbeat locations if time permits.
As academician
I have published a few journal papers and attended the ISDSI conference 2022 (29-27 December) in Bangaluru.
Hope in 2023, I will be working in some new area like Gig Economy (understanding the challenges of freelancers across the globe), digital market and travel industry, and Eco-tourism (Analyzing the reason for popularity of eco-tourism in Indian Contexts), Meta-verse and consumer journey.
As a family members
I am spending a lot of time building our new dream house on my ancestral property. We hope to move into our new home by April 2023.
